Alongside her role as chief executive of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Sara Jayne-Stanes is an award winning food writer and chocolatier, who was a co-founder of the Academy of Chocolate. Her books include Chocolate- the Definitive Guide and Chocolate.
Jayne-Stanes has been at the helm of the Royal Academy for 30 years, during which time her on-going passion has been to improve food education. As a result, she has played an integral role in introducing cooking skills to primary school children through Adopt a School, launched in 1990.
Jayne-Stanes’ dedication to the hospitality industry has resulted in her being made an honorary freeman of the Worshipful Company of Cooks in 2006, appointed an OBE in 2007, and a recipient of a Catey Special Award in 2011. In 2012 she became a patron of the Edge Hotel School.
