Felix is responsible for launching Expedia’s technology-led MICE solution, the first tool that automates the booking process for meeting organisers and hotels.
Conferences and meeting rooms are a large revenue channel for hotels, but have for the most part required an offline, lengthy and low-converting manual process. Listening to feedback from hotel partners to address this need, Felix and his team have developed, tested and successfully launched a first-of-its kind solution to automate both the meeting room and associated group lodging bookings process.
In his role, Felix leads the development of both the company’s marketplace and whitelabel development, including overseeing the technical developments and developing marketing plans to roll the solution out globally.
Felix has worked for Expedia since 2011 and played a major role in the online marketing and SEO teams for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2015, he took on this new role to lead the global MICE team.
Prior to Expedia, Felix worked as a software test engineer at a German IT company and later as a project coordinator for large scale concerts and events in Germany and Switzerland. Both roles provided him with a wealth of knowledge from both ends of the spectrum of the meetings and events industry; from technical, backend issues through to the day-to-day organisation and management of events.
Felix studied International Leisure Management at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and the Institute for Languages and Business in Germany.
